Secretary/Treasurer of the Board
A former Captain in the Marine Corps, David Burke serves as Director of Field Operations for Team Rubicon, a nonprofit organization that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams. David joined Team Rubicon in 2013 as a Volunteer in Service to America, and was quickly promoted through the ranks to head up global operations for the organization. He oversees strategy, development and execution of Team Rubicon’s disaster readiness and response capabilities, and led operations following the Nepal earthquake and the recent floods in Wimberley, Texas, among many others.
Prior to joining Team Rubicon, David worked for Sapient in business and defense consulting. His clients included the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Material Readiness and the American College of Cardiology.
During 2012, he finished active service as a Captain in Quantico, VA, supporting acquisition and sustainment of the Marine Corps’ tank systems at Marine Corps Systems Command.
David was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the Platoon Leader’s Course and then went on to deploy to Iraq with Regimental Combat Team Eight and Afghanistan with 2d Marine Division. He served as an assistant logistics officer, logistics officer and executive officer. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for meritorious service while in garrison and deployed with Headquarters Battalion, 2d Marine Division.
David is a graduate of the University of Iowa where he majored in business.
