Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation Appoints Nate Boyer to Board of Advisors

U.S. Army Green Beret turned NFL player brings “Anything is Possible” commitment to the Foundation

Today the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation announced that Nate Boyer will join the Foundation as a member of the Board of Advisors. The former Army Green Beret and Global War on Terrorism veteran played football for the University of Texas Longhorns, and later for the Seattle Seahawks, becoming the oldest rookie in National Football League history at age 34. Today, in addition to his work in film and television as a producer, director, and actor, Boyer is active in several humanitarian and philanthropic causes, including Merging Vets & Players (MVP), a charity he co-founded with Fox Sports reporter Jay Glazer. MVP brings military veterans and former professional athletes together so that the two groups can tackle their life transition struggles together.

“As a Global War on Terrorism veteran, I’m passionate about honoring my brothers and sisters who wore the uniform by advocating for a Memorial on the National Mall,” said Nate Boyer. “My mantra in life is that anything is possible, and I will bring the same intensity I brought to the football field and my military service to the Foundation’s work.”

“Nate is an incredible patriot and leader whose positive attitude energizes everyone around him,” said Michael “Rod” Rodriguez. “We are thrilled to work with this servant leader as we continue to plan, fund, and build an inclusive Global War on Terrorism Memorial that will help all Americans honor, heal, be empowered, and unite.”
