MISSION BBQ Donates $1.4 Million to Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation

Generous Gift Will Support Global War on Terrorism Memorial on the National Mall.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Today the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation (GWOTMF) announced that MISSION BBQ is making a new donation of $1,440,000 in support of the Foundation’s work to plan, fund, design, and build a Memorial on the National Mall to honor America’s Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) heroes. This is the second year in a row that MISSION BBQ has contributed more than $1 million to the Foundation.

“This extraordinarily generous contribution is a major step toward our $100 million fundraising goal, and the Foundation is profoundly grateful for it,” said GWOTMF President and CEO Michael “Rod” Rodriguez.

“I also want the world to know that MISSION BBQ’s exemplary support of our mission goes far beyond this financial contribution. Their CEO Bill Kraus has been a faithful supporter for many years, including as a strong leader on the Foundation’s Board of Directors. MISSION BBQ has also given us a platform to tell Americans about our work by inviting a Foundation representative to every store opening. They also co-sponsored our first-ever Ruck the Reserve in March of this year. We couldn’t be prouder to have an organization so dedicated to veterans and their families in our corner.”

“Honoring America’s heroes who have worn the uniform is at the core of what we do as a company, and this gift to the Foundation is just one way we say thank you,” said MISSION BBQ Co-Founder and GWOT Memorial Board Member Bill Kraus.” We know how important it is that Gold Star families, veterans, their families, and many other Americans have a Memorial on the National Mall where they can honor, heal, be empowered, and unite. We are privileged to give back a portion of what we have been blessed with to this worthy cause.”
