Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation Announces Andrea Ryant as Senior Director of Development and Operations; Current COO Michael McMahan transitions to Senior Advisor and Counsel

Andrea Ryant

The Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation has welcomed Andrea Ryant as the organization’s Senior Director of Development and Operations. Additionally, current Chief Operating Officer Michael McMahan has amicably transitioned to become the Foundation’s Senior Advisor and Counsel after accepting a CEO position with another organization.

Andrea brings more than twenty-five years of experience across the public, private and non-profit sectors to her role at the Foundation, where she will help steer numerous development and operations activities. Her extensive background in administration, process evaluation and implementation, system and data management, and other essential areas has allowed her to provide guidance and operational expertise to organizations such as Bentz Whaley Flessner, the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, Lyda Hill Philanthropies, and the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

“I am excited to support the Foundation in every aspect of its growth and development as the Memorial comes closer to being a reality,” said Andrea Ryant. “With permission for Site A secured, and the design process now underway, we will continue to accelerate our efforts so that Gold Star families, veterans, and all Americans can honor, heal, be empowered, and unite around the Memorial as soon as possible.”

“The entire Foundation team is eager to partner with Andrea and rely on her years of experience helping various organizations achieve their goals,” said Foundation President and CEO Michael “Rod” Rodriguez. “Additionally, the Foundation is grateful for all that our friend Michael McMahan did as our COO. He was recently presented with a very special opportunity to serve as the CEO of an organization, which we are delighted for him to accept. We are excited that he will continue to work with the Foundation in an advisory capacity.”

“The Foundation continues to staff our organization with talented individuals like Andrea, who are instrumental in achieving our singular goal of constructing a Memorial on the National Mall,” said Board Chair Ted Skokos. “We thank Michael for the outstanding work he did as our COO, and look forward to his continued contributions to the Foundation as a senior advisor and counsel.”
